MBT is a primary accelerator for natural and synthetic rubbers with excellent low temperature curing properties. It may be used in non-staining and non-black vulcanizates. It provides anti-scorch protection in sulfur less rubber compounds. It acts as a retarder in CR compounds. Impart excellent aging properties when used both alone and in combination with DM, TMTD and many other basic accelerators for higher activity. Its vulcanizing temperature is low and easily be dispersed with lower pollution. Mainly used in the manufacture of tires, tubes, foot wear, rubber belts and hoses etc.

Solubility: Soluble in acetone, ether, alcohol, benzene, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride.

Slightly soluble in water when mixed with alkaline.
